The British are coming! The British are coming!
The team is actually half Irish but they live in the beautiful Lake District of England (there are some beautiful self catering cottages in Arnside they’ve told us about that I want to have a few nights in sometime) These would be my Irish in-laws (Anne and Dave) and their English friends (Rosie and Ray). They’ve started a craft business called Rosandar and guess where all the proceeds go? Yup, that’s right, to Team Aidan. People on the other side of the pond are moved by Aidan’s story and are showing themselves generous. All this from a country where had we resided there, we’d have a van. They’re giving anyway. Here is what my mother-in-law has shared about their generosity.
One student who was quite taken with the story of Aidan, emptied her purse into Rosie’s hand and said she hadn’t much money but could have what was in her purse – probably only £2, but it was all she had! Reminded me of the widow in the bible who gave all she had and the Lord was pleased and blessed her. Also another lady had been looking at the crafts and I told her about Aidan. She went off and about an hour later she pressed into my hand a £2 coin and said it wasn’t a lot as she didn’t have much money – another example of people giving what they have.
People who don’t even know us emptying their purses! This is really amazing. I just go back to what struck me with Aidan’s Powerthirsters – humbled, amazed, grateful. Thank-you for being part of our village.
