Ripple Effect – Part 3
This post is about generosity, hope, encouragement and all good things between.
I’ve been receiving wonderful notes with donations. Some people have indicated that they are also parents of children with special powers. They’re so encouraging. The people at the bank love to read these notes because as one teller said, “There’s just so much negative stuff out there. This can give you hope.” And a big shout out to Kennebunk Savings in Berwick for making a donation as well.
Many people who have donated have been people I don’t know. I feel like they each have a story and it leaves me wondering why they gave. Then I got a notice that someone was fundraising for a friend in another country who needed heart surgery. I usually give to causes that I’m more connected to, but how could I miss this opportunity to return kindness and make someone wonder who I am and why I would give. I was giddy with excitement. Some people give because they’re connected. Some give because of a memory. Some give because they have received, and we’ve received in abundance. Why do you give?
