Helpful Resources

Robbie Foundation

The Robbie Foundation is dedicated to assisting children with developmental disabilities (including, but not limited to physical disabilities, speech and language delays, sensory integrated disorders, cerebral palsy, brain injury, autism spectrum disorders, cognitive challenges).  We serve children between the ages of birth and 20 years residing in the state of Maine.  Our primary mission is to fund adaptive equipment, assistive technology, therapy treatment and/or any necessary item not covered by insurance.

Gia Foundation

The mission of the Gia Nicole Angel Foundation is to enhance the daily functioning of a child with special needs and his or her family by awarding assistance through the purchase of a specific item or items. This includes children with any physical disability or illness.

Funds are awarded on a case by case basis with preference given to lower income and single parent families. Families who wish to receive assistance must complete an application and demonstrate financial need.

Caring Resources for Living

Our purpose is to fulfill the vital needs of children with life-threatening medical conditions in Maine in a timely, effective and creative way. To ease the burdens of critically ill children and their families through prompt and creative solutions to urgent, unmet needs, and to the maximum extent possible, enable these children to live their lives in dignity and safety.

Chelsea Foundation

The main focus is to raise funds to provide grants for seizure-response dogs. These trained companion dogs may be able to detect an oncoming seizure and provide warnings and/or respond after the onset of a seizure. The Foundation also provides Emfit, SmartWatch and SAMiAlert movement monitors for those in need.

United Heathcare Children’s Foundation

The Foundation embraces and supports the concept of facilitating access to health-related services that have the potential to significantly enhance either the clinical condition or the quality of life of the child and that are not fully covered by the available commercial health insurance plan. The Foundation provides financial assistance toward the family’s share of the cost of medical services.
