So getting suited up for an EEG is a pain in the booty. The nurses have to measure and mark the many spots on your head that will get an electrode. Then they are put on with glue and an airgun (ok, it may not really be an airgun but it sounds that way). Depending on how squirmy wormy your kids is, it can take well over an hour. If it’s a walking EEG, you get a little back pack to walk around with for 1-2 days. This pack is attached to the electrodes on your head so you’re stuck with it. Then there’s the getting this crap off your head ordeal.
Anyway, the smarty pants people at MIT have developed an EEG bracelet. I have no idea how long it takes to get from MIT to my doctor’s office but I say, “Get a move on people.” What a relief that would be.
And if we can design our own bracelets (which is totally not in the study but someone should get on that too) ours would say “Seizures suck” or “I’m just doing this for the hot nurses.” What would yours say?
